Introduction: Pediculosis is defined as a head infestation from the lice parasite, where the only host is the human, it generally occurs in children between 3 and 13 years old. It can impact economically, academically, psychologically, and socially, due to poor hygiene conditions relationship. Objective: To strengthen the knowledge and prevention skills of pediculosis capitis in third and fourth grade members of a school community (students, teachers, parents) in Mexico through the nursing care process (NCP). Method: Community intervention study with NCP implemented in a public primary school in Mexico, in which qualitative and community participation techniques were used for the assessment of the school community and two nursing diagnostic statements were developed for the NCP, and the results and interventions were developed through the outcome classification (NOC) and intervention classification (NIC) taxonomies, respectively. Results: Skills for the prevention of pediculosis were observed through adequate hair hygiene thanks to the contribution of all the actors involved. Conclusions: There are very few experiences on community care of pediculosis as a patient, and those published are focused solely on knowledge and not on group behaviors. Health promotion and education manage to promote habits of prevention of pediculosis infestation.
