Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death in Mexico and in the world. The latest Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Geografía report, from January to June 2023, documented 97,187 deaths due to cardiac cause; therefore, prevention and appropriate treatment are of great importance. El Instituto Nacional de Ciencia Médicas y Nutrición is a highly specialized reference center that serves a population with alterations that directly or indirectly affect the cardiovascular system, with diversity in the etiology of heart failure. Therefore, the creation of a day hospital of the heart failure clinic led by nursing is of vital importance in a non-cardiovascular center to generate a positive impact by avoiding decompensations and improving the quality of life in patients with heart failure.
