Introduction: Care for pediatric patients with cancer is one of the care needs in the state of Chiapas. From 2020 to 2022, a greater number of cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, tumors of the central nervous system and lymphomas were recorded, occurring mainly between 5 and 14 years of age. The Pediatric Specialties Hospital seeks to establish improvements in the nursing management process that contributes to providing quality care, for well-being and prevention of adverse events during treatment during the hospital stay. Objective: To show a nursing management scheme that comprehensively favors hospital care: reducing the risk of inappropriate practices due to the variability of care in hospitalized pediatric patients. Methods: Quasi-experimental longitudinal study that incorporates a management model with six quality criteria in nursing care. It was evaluated to identify improvement before and after the interventions. Conclusions: Effective and efficient management of resources can lead to the improvement of nursing care. This includes compliance with care protocols, the application of clinical assessment scales and algorithms. Where supervision, mentoring and accompaniment to staff through pedagogical and administrative actions stands out.
